Tim Reeves: Ear Trumpet - Four Stars

Tim Reaves is a silly irreverent man child who spends about fifty minutes spouting absolute nonsense whilst trying to escape on his own. I loved it!

Tim takes you on a silly journey showing shades of a young Julian Barratt (creator of Mighty Boosh). Fast paced, absurdist and witty. You might not quite know what he is saying at any one time but it'll make you laugh nonetheless. A unique style all of his own, Tim will have you chuckling at videos of the Galaxy FM1000 paper folding machine or laughing along as he calls for a mid show temperature check, wild but brilliant.

Clever use of powerpoint presentation and visual gags also come into play nicely here to create a well rounded show that sticks out from the standard one man standup show. Equal parts delightfully awkward and light, absurdist silliness Tim Reeves: Ear Trumpet is perfect for some early evening weirdness, and I can assure you it's better than egg.

Ear Trumpet is running from August 5th- 27th tucked away from the Royal mile of Edinbrugh at the Little White Pig. Tickets here.

Organised Chaos - Four Stars

Organised Chaos is exactly what it says on the tin. A Combination of jovial fun crowd work where each comedian gets the chance to talk about their own equally chaotic lives. Another triple bill spectacular of London's rising comedy scene, Danny Scott, Ibrahim Sesay (IBS) and Tasha Cluskey are all ones to watch in the coming years. The show opens with a ceremony of chaos, interviewing audience members to determine which one is the most chaotic and deserves the right of monarch. It's a great way to start the show which brings you into their group dynamic and settles you in for a night of laughs in this intimate space.

Danny Scott is a quick witted firecracker, dishing out fast paced comedy storytelling action, with some physicality to boot. His stories of his life as a teacher and his inside jokes with the children, or how he found himself at an ABBA tribute band with only two members will have you cackling through the night. Ibrahhim Sesay (IBS) is up next with some hometown humour and the inclusivity of his local muggins. A wonderfully playful delivery which feels more like you're sat in his living room bantering away than in a packed out fringe room. IBS gives great insight into his neurodivergent mind and is as cool as they come on the circuit. Finally we have Tasha Cluskey, with some hilarious in your face Essex humor. She's bold, brash and puts the spotlight directly on her in the best of ways.

Organised Chaos is a wonderful time in an intimate twenty seater venue and will put you in high spirits for the rest of the night. It's currently running at Three Sister in the Wee Room between Aug 3rd - 27th. Tickets here.

Big Zeus Energy - Five Stars

Listen Brother, do you wish to harness your big Zeus energy this fringe season?

A loud, bombastic, hyper macho parody of the modern man. Big Zeus Energy member Ollie West tries to win back his former lover through the medium of theatre, in this hilarious comedy tale detailing the legend of Iron John. Follow the gang on this epic fantasy saga as boy becomes man is this silly adventure akin to the likes of Monty Python’s Holy grail. It’s bizarre and beautiful.

It's just the treat to finish off your Edinburgh Fringe night, all three have great chemistry and always seem on the brink of breaking out into fits of laughter, you can tell they are having a spectacular time and this resonates with the audience, welcoming them as honorary members into the tribe. If you like a heavy dose of clowning with your fringe I strongly advise you check out Big Zeus Energy.

Big Zeus Energy is ran at the Mash house between Aug 1st - Aug 13th.

A combination of the three posters for the shows in the review.
